When the ribbon was cut at the brand-new Urban Air Adventure Park in Brockton, MA, it didn’t just mark the opening of another family entertainment venue.
It marked the beginning of something much deeper—a movement of joy, connection, and community impact.
This grand opening was unlike any other. Led by passionate franchisees Tommy and Cheryl, the event showcased what happens when business and purpose come together. While the park itself is a place for kids to celebrate birthdays, escape into adventure, and connect with friends, the team wanted the celebration to reach far beyond the walls of the park.
Thanks to the Unleashed Brands Foundation’s teddy bear program, the Brockton team did just that.
In partnership with our Home Office Team and local leaders, Tommy and Cheryl led an incredible initiative: 1,000 teddy bears were hand-stuffed by the Urban Air staff and volunteers—yes, hand-stuffed with love and intention. The bears were then distributed across four local children’s hospitals, five children’s nonprofits, and gifted to the first 100 kids waiting in line for the grand opening.
That means bears have already found their way into the arms of kids who needed a moment of comfort and connection. One of the first bears went directly to a child in the ER of a local hospital—proof that even the smallest gestures can bring light during tough times.
What made it even more special? When community members learned the bears weren’t store-bought but made by the hands of the very people opening the park, the response was a heartfelt, “Wow.”
This event wasn’t just about creating a buzz or generating foot traffic—it was about showing Brockton that this Urban Air team is here for the community, not just in it.
We’re incredibly proud of the work Tommy and Cheryl are doing in Brockton and grateful to every person who made this launch one to remember.
